7 Mental Hacks to Be More Confident in Yourself

7 Mental Hacks to Be More Confident in Yourself

Having a low self-esteem or lack of confidence can be gruesome. Self-confidence is necessary for everyone to be successful in their career and relationships. Trust me or not, but every decision you take requires you to trust yourself, and that trust cannot be attained if you already feel low about yourself. There are days when something is so challenging that you consider that you won’t be able to thrive in it. But all we need is a little bit of hope, just like every hero in a movie needs when he is about to give up. Your life is no less than a movie:

Push yourself

push yourself As we get older, and our dreams tend to get squashed, we start building limiting beliefs like, yes; I cannot fly in the sky. Well, okay maybe that you cannot (unless you are too brilliant to come up with some technical wings), but there are ways to know what all you can achieve. Don’t think that you can’t do something because if you push yourself through all the challenges, you might.

“When I need the best advice, I talk to myself.”

You might have heard the quotes similar to this note, and it might show that a person is arrogant, but in reality, it is the best way to gain confidence. When you are talking to yourself in front of the mirror, you might feel crazy, but talking to ourselves can boost our mood swings, make us smarter and even improve our memory. However, you must ensure that when you speak to yourself, you stay positive as it will only affect your neurobiological response.

Think Positive

think positiveEven though it is important to take consideration of whatever negative comes to your mind, you must bring out five other positives along it. Negative bias may help you figure out what you should improve about yourself or how you should act in any negative situation, but do not indulge deep into some negative thought, as it might become too powerful and take control of all your emotions. You might not be able to see what your positive aspects are, anymore.

Increase your curiosity

Curiosity helps in inner growth through your entire life. Learning doesn’t end when you are sixteen or when you are settled in your career, but it needs to go on till you breathe. With curiosity, our minds are willing to learn more, and thus they keep growing. New experiences and the will to know more about anything that comes along can help you be confident about yourself. When new ideas are presented, you can be deeply observant, and this will open your mind to new possibilities and opportunities. Thus, raise your curiosity levels as it is the only way to live.

Overcoming self-doubt

Overcome self-doubtWe always have certain insecurities and doubts about ourselves, but we can avoid letting them ruining our beliefs. Whenever a self-doubt arises, contradict it by saying that you can overcome your flaws, and you are going to prove it by completing the task which is in front of you. Think to yourself, “No one will be able to stop me from achieving my goal, not even my own doubts.” It is the comfort zone which these doubts build for you, and you need to get out of it.

Facing your fears

Remember the metaphorical tunnel handler was talking about in friends? Well, my friends, you need to “go through the tunnel” and “pee in the wind.” Jokes aside, we need to overcome our fears by doing exactly what we fear.  Scared of heights? Go to the top of the building and scream out loud. Know what your worst fear is and get close to it. What worse could happen? Take control of your life by doing what you desire and overcoming the fear that is holding you back.

Take pride in yourself

take pride in yourselfLastly, you must be proud of things that you have achieved or for talents that you have. You are unique in your way and the fact that you are aware of your flaws, and you are working on them is more than enough to be proud of what person you are. Some people are so arrogant that they don’t even see what’s wrong with them, but at least you are that humble. Identify your positives and make them stronger, which will lead to you have a confident life.
