10 Things You Learn From Your First Heartbreak

When you’re in love, everything seems so good, you start to live the life of your dreams. You forget your pains, worries and tensions. The happiness, sorrows and everything of your lover, becomes your own.

You transform yourself into a completely new being. This feeling is called love.

But when you lose that person due to any reason, then that pain becomes inevitable. The pain is more than just an emotional defeat. No matter what your friends say, the so-called “Heartbreak” is the toughest thing to go through. But, do not forget that everything in life teaches you a lesson; your heartbreak will too. It may or may not teach you as many lessons as it taught me, but it will definitely help you to learn some invaluable lessons.

Here are the ten things my first heartbreak taught me:

You realize that your parents are the only constant in your life.

10 Things You Learn From Your First Heartbreak

No matter how badly they scold you or get angry with you; but they are the only one in your life who will be with you through your thick and thins. You may get frustrated with your mother at times because she keeps a check on you. Her never-ending questions may bother you but when you suffer, your parents become your best friends and try to bring you out from the situations.

You Discover fulfillment and importance within yourself and not in others.

When in love, you often put aside your needs and happiness in hopes that making your loved one happy will fulfill your desire to be happy. But when that person is no longer with you, you feel empty. You start finding fulfillment and meaning within yourself.

You start being selfish and it helps. You learn the art of saying ‘No’ to your friends, to situations that no longer serve you, deserve you. You prioritize yourself, and it starts making you happy.

You are more conscious of your relationships than before. You finally learn from your mistakes.

Any person who comes in your life teaches you lessons. Either he comes as a blessing or as a lesson. After you first major heartbreak, you start to think twice before trusting someone.

You are now more conscious than ever.

You realize that ‘Forever’ is a lie. Nothing stays forever with you.

The person who used to make promises to stay together forever is not sitting next to you anymore. You stop believing lies and realize that real life is far different from the reel life. You come out of your dreams and live a practical life.

You learn to value your all relationships which you ignored before.

Yes, the connections which you ignored because of the person you wanted to be with forever and always, is not with you. This makes you value those overlooked relationships once again. Your life does not revolve around a single person anymore. All your friends, family members are a part of your life once again.

You learn not to depend on just a single person.

You made a person your entire world. You used to share everything with that person only be it your promotion, happiness, sadness anything. But now you know how to become the master of your happiness. Your happiness does not depend on others anymore.

You learn that you can be sad once in a while, but your life is way better than before. You learn to live your life again, love people, welcome new people into your life and stay happy always.

10 Things You Learn From Your First Heartbreak

You don’t live your life for another person. In the fear of gaining weight, you gave up things, forgetting about yourself, since that person is gone, you now do whatever you want to and enjoy your life like never before.

All this may sound like an over-positive article, but it is not. Life is like a bus ride; people will hop in travel with you only for some time and most of them might not stay. Once you realize this fact, your life will be better than ever.
